Anita Sherwin-Hamer
Anita is a certified teacher, school principal and supervisory officer with over 35 years of experience in the education sector. She has worked in the public and private school systems and at the Ontario Science Centre. In 2003, Anita began work at the provincial level designing and delivering leadership programs for the Catholic Principals’ Council of Ontario. She then joined Curriculum Services Canada (CSC) as the Director of Evaluation Services where she managed pan-Canadian projects and projects for the Ontario Ministry of Education, including the Trillium List Textbook Evaluation Process. While at CSC, Anita became involved in its international education program designing and delivering workshops and presentations for educators and administrators in Korea, Peru, Uruguay, Hong Kong, and South Africa. Anita continues to manage the Trillium List Textbook Evaluation Process and recently co-authored an Education Leadership Program for New South Wales Secondary School Principals Council in Australia.

Wendy Goulden
Wendy is a passionate and experienced educator and leader. With over 30 years of experience in public education, Wendy has played many roles including teacher, consultant, professional learning facilitator, program and resource developer, and program and resource evaluator. She has collaborated with ministries of education, professional organizations, and corporations. Wendy has considerable experience teaching at the post-secondary level and currently teaches part-time at Wilfred Laurier’s Faculty of Education. Wendy is a Program Manager for the national program, Welcome to Kindergarten. Her areas of expertise include language and literacy instruction and early years education. She has engaged in specialized projects that have taken her to China, Hong Kong, Colombia, Nunavut and Peru.
Deirdre Kinsella Biss
Deirdre is a certified teacher, school principal, curriculum developer and professional learning designer with over 30 years of experience in education. She has served as a Student Achievement Officer with the Ontario Literacy and Numeracy Secretariat, as an International Education Consultant for Curriculum Services Canada and the Ministry of Education, Peru and as a Teacher Education Course Developer for UNESCO. She has worked as an Instructor for Lakehead University, has been a co-creator of an Education Leadership Program for New South Wales Secondary School Principals Council in Australia and has authored and facilitated leadership development workshops for the Catholic Principals’ Council of Ontario. She is the Editor of Principal Connections, a professional learning magazine that supports the knowledge and practice of Ontario school leaders. Deirdre is both a keynote speaker and facilitator in Canada and Internationally.


Joanne Reid
Joanne Reid is an independent researcher, writer and educator. She works as a consultant for professional organizations that administer large-scale licensing exams, and she prepares research reports for various educational institutions. She has taught high school, university undergraduate, and adult learners in face-to-face and online settings and in classrooms and corporate settings. She is actively developing and teaching Brock University courses in curriculum design and assessment. Joanne was an Education Officer with the Education Quality and Accountability Office for over 10 years where she was responsible for the assessment of literacy. Joanne has acted as a consultant for various literacy projects with Canadian school boards, testing companies and Ministries of Education. She is a consultant for professional organizations such as the Canadian Examination of Architects. Her current focus is on innovative approaches to curriculum, particularly the integration of cross—curricular 21st century competencies, and the intersection of curriculum, assessment and social issues. This focus has engaged her in projects in Sweden Turkey, New Zealand, and Ireland/ Europe.
Brian Weishar
Brian is a certified teacher, and is currently an instructor and faculty advisor in the Faculty of Education, Lakehead University Orillia. He has over 30 years experience as a teacher, curriculum consultant, program coordinator, professional learning facilitator and coach. He designed and delivered a number of resources, workshops and online learning opportunities, and has worked with educators across Ontario and in other parts of Canada. Brian has been involved in a number of initiatives as a project lead and project manager for a number of organizations, including the Curriculum Services Canada (CSC), Korean Cultural Centre, and the Council of Ontario Directors of Education (CODE). He is a writer of a number of articles on education, including as a co-author of “Implementing High-Leverage Influences from the Visible Learning Synthesis: Six Supporting Conditions.”
